The Joy of Design 64 Quadrupled 5 by Helena Tiainen is created by repeating the first 64 paintings in her The Joy of Design Series four times. These 64 paintings were originally arranged in chronological order from left on the top to bottom on the right and then this piece was repeated four times in different orientations to create the image you are viewing here. This image was the fifth one of currently eight quadrupled versions in the original colors and another eight inverted versions of these and a variety of color variations of The Joy of Design 64 Quadrupled.
The Joy of Design Series is intended to be eye candy. It is also intended to be a reminder of change and changing viewpoints and looking and seeing differently. I use the original paintings in this series to create arrangements and compilations that are alterable and work in many different perspectives creating associations in the mind of the viewer according to their understandings. I wish to emphasize the fact that all perception is always in the eye and mind of the viewer and when we change then what we see and understand also changes. So, I hope that you will use these artworks as a mirror and reflection of your current understandings. Their abstract nature allows for a wide range of perspectives.
