This painting, The Joy of Design XLII by Helena Tiainen, is painting number 42 in The Joy of Design Series original acrylic paintings which are designed to hang in any direction, including the diagonal four. These works are designed to hang alone or in groupings with other original work in this series or in groupings of giclee prints of one or more paintings in this series. The potential is endless. There are currently 42 original paintings in this series and numerous other works derived from these paintings. Check out galleries that have either The Joy of Design or TJOD in their names and you will begin to understand how large this project is growing. In short, these works are about associations that our minds make in regard to forms and colors. These works are fun and are intended to challenge the way that we look at things and the world around us. They are born out of my love for the joy of design and exploration.
