Over two months have passed by since I wrote my last blog. In reality, I wrote a post about a month ago, but lost it in the process of trying to publish it and decided to wait a while longer under the very uncertain times we were experiencing. Now I feel the time is ripe for another entry.
I have been busily working on creating a new website that concentrates on my original works for sale. I am about to publish https://helenatiainen.com, which I created on wix. In California, Alameda County and City of Berkeley, all non-essential workers are still asked not to work indoors with others outside of their household. I am one of these folks. I have not been able to work with my clientele in person for nearly eleven months at this point. I am self-employed, currently mainly unemployed and I am hoping to create more income with my art. Future will tell how this goes. Making money from my artworks has happened many a times in the past, but mainly when I have participated in exhibits of one kind or another, or a client has commissioned me to create art for them after having seen some of my works. With the current restrictions, even the exhibit titled Water by Nordic 5 Arts at the Vesterheim Museum in Decorah, Iowa, has been closed to the public for months and there is currently talk about extending this exhibition until mid June this year. But museums do not sell artworks they are showing, so, my painting, Waves and Swirls, will not be offered for sale until after I get it back from the museum.
From now on I will be publishing my blogs on my website at wix, https://helenatiainen.com, so, follow me there if you wish to read my blogs in the future.
