Description
This archival ink and pencil on paper drawing, Moving In Circles - The Other Way Around by Helena Tiainen, is literally Moving In Circles turned upside down into an alternative position. Like Moving In Circles, this drawing is also about the constant flow of energy from formless to form. Here I am questioning our associations with seeing, when we always tend to give forms meaning in the way that we recognize and utilize them, instead of seeing things as color and form that might resemble something else than our preconceived notions. In this figurative abstraction patterns turn into recognizable forms in our own minds and this art is intended to be explored. Just let your eye wander and see what you will find. You might see human beings, monsters and more that you have not seen before. I encourage you to explore and look with fresh eyes. Have fun!
