The Joy of Design 47 Arrangement 1 by Helena Tiainen is created with scanned images of The Joy of Design XLVII and Part 2 in alternative positions. You can learn more about The Joy of Design series under any work in this series. These paintings are intended to hang in any direction. I personally like the tension and attraction between the colors and forms in this direction, so, I favor this direction for this painting. The original acrylic, The Joy of Design XLVII I used to create this piece with is a very minimalistic painting based on triangular shapes that resemble a very abstract and geometric landscape when viewed in its original orientation and in Part 2. In this work here I have altered the placement to another optional orientation. All the works in The Joy of Design series are about the joy of design and fun and play and mental associations that we have with forms in color.
